San FranciscoIn San Francisco, we provide a full continuum of substance abuse treatment services to adults, youths, and families, including outpatient, residential, jail-based, sober living environments, and case management programs. Our services are based upon evidence-based practices, so that the therapeutic environment and the clinical interventions are appropriate and effective for the needs of the people in each program. Most programs are specialized to serve men and women separately. We encourage our participants to invite their family members to join them for therapeutic and recreational activities whenever possible.
In Los Angeles, we offer residential, outpatient, case management, sober living, and jail-based treatment programs for men, women, youths, and families. Our Los Angeles programs specialize in serving people during their transition from jail or prison back to the community. Services are tailored to help men and women reunite with their families and learn essential skills that will help them recover from substance abuse, build stable lives, and avoid future incarceration.
In the Central Valley, we operate substance abuse treatment programs inside California State Prison facilities. These programs are targeted to addressing men’s and women’s unique paths to addiction, criminal behavior, and incarceration. We use proven strategies to assess each individual’s risks and needs, and then build an individualized, evidence-based treatment plan to reduce risks and address needs. These strategies help incarcerated men and women to get on the road to recovery, and they help our participants prepare to re-enter society with skills to live lawful, healthy, stable lives.
Additionally, our prison-based programs are very successful in connecting participants with community-based treatment following their release from prison, as this “aftercare” is known to be essential for reducing recidivism.
Since graduating from Walden House, I have gone on to become a successful non-profit leader and helped to raise millions of dollars to support human service and youth development organizations in our community. In my personal life, I am a loving husband and proud father of twin boys. I am a home owner, volunteer and mentor. Without Walden House, this would not have been possible.
